a give away?!

I am officially promoting my baby sis-n-law’s ETSY site, and she’s offering up two free bows that could be YOURS!

Whether you have a kid (boy or girl, it IS 2010, people) or a kid to buy presents for, these bows would be perfection!  They are uber-poofy, and – dare I say? – boutique quality!  They are on an alligator clip so you can wear them or hook them to a headband or a ponytail holder.  Here are two of my faves:

Here is how you enter:

1) Post a comment here

2) Post about this give-away on your blog and then come back and comment a 2nd time

3) Post the button for the Etsy site on your blog and you can comment a third time!

The winner will be chosen at random on Tuesday, March 2nd, and will get to pick 2 bows from the shop or make a custom order for two bows.  EASY!

Chewie is onto super chunky baby food at this point, and eating quite a bit of our table food when we have appropriate stuff.  He is eating A LOT and so this weekend I broke out my mad (sub-par) kitchen skillz to make some homemade baby food for him.  Um, let’s say it couldn’t have been easier.  And HE LOVED IT.

I removed all the flesh from one avocado.  I chopped up one whole banana, and I rough-chopped a peach.  I couldn’t find organic peaches so I scrubbed the peach first with some organic veg/fruit spray.  I saved about a third of the peach for my spinach salad (hey, mama’s gotta eat too!) and then threw the avocado, peach and banana all into the blender.  I would have removed the skin, except Chewie can handle it now and it is good for him.

I like to give him avocado because it’s good for his brain, and he LOVES it.

I pulsed it until it was semi-smooth, but with some good chunks in there and then I used the old ice cube tray trick.  Chewie LOVEs it and probably would eat it all in one sitting if I’d let him.  For now we’re doing three cubes of it with some mixed grain cereal once a day while it lasts…  YUM
