When it came on the air Ryno and I were settling into the 2nd year of our marriage and it was the first tv show that we started watching together, as a couple.  I loved the first couple of seasons and kinda couldn’t stand the middle years – the “tailies” anyone?  anyone?!  Ryan eventually could not longer take it and stopped watching but I was determined to stick it out and find out what the frak was going on…

And so, the series has ended.  In all honesty, I really, really liked the finale.  I have a few questions nagging at me (and they don’t involve polar bears or the giant statue feet, because, I don’t care).  Essentially, the way I have understood things, everything that happened on the island and in flashbacks and with the Oceanic Six was real – only the “sideways” plotline of this final season represented something of a purgatory that (as jack’s dad told him) they “all created together” so that they could move on into that bright light that represents… maybe heaven?  Maybe everything good that they fought to save?  I don’t know.  But I cried like 9 times in the finale and felt like it summed things up in a confusing but satisfactory way for me.

(If you were one of the many confused by the silent images of airplane wreckage in the closing credits – which left a lot of people wondering if they all died in the original plane crash – ABC issued a statement saying they added those as a buffer between the final scene and the evening news.)

Here are the questions that I am still scratching my head about:

• What happened to Farraday, Charlotte, and Miles?  Or even lapidus (the pilot)?
• Why in the sideways world did jack have a son?  And what was the significance of Locke being the one to say “You don’t have a son.”
• So did Hurley cross over into the other world with the group (one reviewer noted that the seating pattern in the chapel mirrored airline seating,which I did not notice) or is stayin’ around to keep protecting the island a la jacob?

What did you think?  Were you satisfied or frustrated?  How many times did you cry?  Which was your favorite reunion (mine?  tie between sawyer and juliet and charlie and hurley… sniffle).

And then I heard an answer, instantaneously – “Maybe it’s because He wants you to put him first ONE TIME… above SOMETHING…”
